The chin chain should always be used together with either the Curb bit or Pelham bit. This single chin chain is stainless steel and should be used together with a rubber cover so that it does not pinch the horse's skin.
This chain is a lot different from others I have purchased in the past. The loops are flattened and lie flat - as opposed to the normal link chains that can be twisted up to make them 'bite'. I think this curb is a bit more humane than a normal chain.
