Written on by AnonymousI was looking for a cheap oversize/ extra full size bridle for schooling a growing black draft cross. I ordered this one from a different website for $31.60, and I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this bridle for its price. It looks like it may even fit a full grown draft. Since it doesn't matter to me if the color bleeds a little on a black horse, my only concern is that the browband looks a little thin on a bridle this size, but since I have a thicker oversize browband already, it's no big deal for me. For ~$30 for an oversize/ extra full size bridle, this deal can't be beat.
Written on by Anonymousbought this bridle because I liked the browband and on the website it looked really nice. In real life it does not look much like that. The first thing is that the FIRST time I used this bridle, the buckle on the noseband scraped off all the leather, so now there is a large brown scrape mark. The second thing is when I cleaned it for my dressage competition, all this black stuff came off it (using my usual leather cleaning items which work) and my hands were covered in black paint- like substance. Now the bridle is not black but a different colour (does not look as nice). Now, I am going to have to buy a new bridle, but I will not buy a Horze one. The only bonus is the browband is nice and shipping was fast but I will never buy one a Horze bridle now!!
Written on by EleanorI bought two of these bridles: one cob size and one full size. Both bridles shed black dye like mad. I cleaned and oiled both, hoping to get rid of the extra dye, all to no avail. Handling the brildles leaves a coating of black dye on your fingers. I would NOT put them on a grey horse or one that has a long white face marking, that's for sure. Also, the full size bridle came in with the noseband completely warped and squashed. No amount of oiling or heating (hair dryer) would fix it. I use that one for emergencies only and there is no way I'd want my horse to be seen in it.
Written on by Not A Happy CamperThis is a great bridle for the price. Leather quality is decent and it fits a variety of horses well due to lots of sizing options. The only thing that I found a bit snug is the noseband, but just barely. Have to use the last hole, but that's on a frieisan sporthorse, so no surprise there. I got the full. Came with web reins, so if you're looking for leather reins I'd suggest you order a pair. I swapped out the reins for the rubber reins and altogther a great bridle. I use it for my lessons and get lots of compliments. Although, I will agree browband is HUGE and was bent when it was shipped, so its got a weird 'angle' to it. Be aware of how you hang it! I give it 2 thumbs up for the price and quality.
