I have to admit that I bought these only because I was buying a lot of things during a 50% off promotional sale and I needed to get to $75 to qualify for free shipping. I was pleasantly surprised to find that these neoprene pads were backed on one side with nylon and were generously sized to accomodate just about any cross surcingle blanket. I did have to lengthen my surcingles a little to get them to fit properly once these pads were in place, but that was the only adjustment I had to make. I really enjoy not having to untangle my surcingles every time I blanket my horse, since they are always held in the right position. It's just a small time saver, but I can imagine that these would be very useful in big barns where several horses get blanketed day in and day out during the cooler months.
