I'm 65" (5'5") tall with a 28" inseam, 30" waist, and 41" hips. Even among equestrians, I have larger than average hips and thighs. These breeches fit closely, and like most pants of any kind, either fit in the thighs/butt and are huge at the waist, or fit at the waist and are tight in the thighs. I started with the 34 and ended up exchanging them for the 32s, which less resembled a fly-fisherman's waders on me. Predictably, when I make this choice, I have to accept visible panty-lines. The fabric likes to crinkle along the horizontal axis which contributes to this visual. However, the fabric is stretchy, mid-weight and BUTTER soft. The finishes and stitching all look great (zero washes in) and nothing pokes, itches, or pinches. The belt loops are 2" so you'll want to pair this with your widest belt. The high, wide waist-band is super flattering, especially if you have a long torso like me. I think people with a bit of a tummy going on will love these even more. Plus your shirt stays tucked in! I was concerned that these would bind across the knee, but after a few squats they were fine. There is one pocket at the hip. My iPhone 8 fits in it but it's not super comfortable to ride with. The "sock" at the end is only on the calf-side to keep from bunching in your boot, but it would be more functional if it fit more snug. Other than the wide waistband and Euro-seat, these are fairly traditional in their styling, especially in the tan I wear, and could work for schooling shows if you're looking for a workhorse breech. The tan color does have a green undertone, but nothing like the bile color we all had to wear when I was a kid! I can't comment on whether this shows um...swamp. But the fabric is fairly thick so I wouldn't think so. Thanks, Horze, for making the exchange so painless!
Nice riding pants with a good fit if you need a high waist that stabilizes both one and the other. Clearly affordable. Quite generous in the waist compared to the legs though. Slightly poor stretch over the knees. Suitable if you are widest in the middle so to speak. Bought size 40, pull size 40 or 29 in stretch jeans otherwise.
