Okay blanket

Bought a 78 which my horse normally wears and it was much to big. Very long with lots of overhand on the bum. Ordered a 75 which fits much better. I find this blanket very heavy for just a rain sheet with no fill. My horse didn't like it much the first night and spent alot of time rolling around in it. He was covered in sawdust the next morning. Perhaps it will be less stiff and heavy feeling over time.

I bought this rug to replace an identical one that my horse has had for five years and has been excellent. Very disappointed to find that the stitching on the d rings for the fillet string has come apart twice after only two wearings. I have repaired it myself but I think the workmanship on my rug is poor. The fit, design and weather proofing remain excellent but very disappointed in stitching

This rug is very well made with strong stitching and double seams. The fit is very adjustable in all places and it has very well thought out front closure system. I have used it when heavy overnight summer rain was forecast and the horse was dry under it and not sweating so it "breathes "well. Would buy again as cannot fault design or quality at all.

Not water proof
This gal ~

I purchased this rain sheet last spring & blanket was used only a few times. So I was surprised & extremely disappointed this fall when I used it only to find the blanket saturated & my horse getting wet after a day of steady but light rain. Today I was at feed store where I purchased the blanket & I mentioned the lack of water proofing of this rain sheet & sales person says "Oh, you're not the only one that's told me that". Very disappointed. I know this blanket said the waterproofing was good for three washings apparently not three rains. I did not have to wash blanket since was never soiled enough so I would expect to get more use than one partial season. Luckily my horse is a blanket fashionista so I had other options to keep him dry.

My Favorite Sheet

This is my second Avalanche rain sheet. I loved the first one, but the lining is wearing out after 3 years, so it was time for a replacement. The sheet offers protection and keeps the horse dry, is durable, and stays centered. Also I do not have any rubs from the blanket. If the Avalanche Pro is as durable as the first sheet, I will be very happy. This sheet seems to fit longer over the rump. I would recommend it for protection against rainy, windy weather. It is a little pricey, but worth it in the long run.

Worth the money!

My horse is terrible with blankets. She rips holes in the chest and destroys them. I thought about buying this blanket for a while and I finally decided I should try it. It fits great and is very durable. I should definately have bought it sooner.

My pony is 13.2 and a little longer than most ponies her size. This blanket fits her very well and does not shift around much at all due to the darts and adjustable straps in front. It also keeps her dry. I would buy this product again for another horse. The only negative is that the tail flap is a little long for a pony and traps manure.
